Transmission Slip Yokes

Driveshaft Specialist inventories over 100 different numbers of Transmission Slip Yokes. We Distributors for Spicer, AAM and Neapco. If we don’t have what you need we will get it for you. See Measurement Info after Vehicle Brand listings.

Accurate measurements are key to finding the correct driveshaft slip yoke. In the driveline industry, everything is based on precise dimensions, and we’re here to help you get it right. Taking a few simple measurements ensures you get the right part on the first try, saving time and money.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  1. Transmission Yoke: Identify by spline count on the transmission output shaft.
  2. U-Joint Series: Refer to our U-Joint Identification guide for help.
  3. Length: Measure from the center of the U-joint cap to the tip of the barrel.
  4. Ground Hub Diameter: Measure the diameter where the seal rides.

We know many vehicles by application, but these dimensions guarantee a perfect fit every time.

  • Missing Splines: Some yokes may have missing splines. Ensure you count all splines on the yoke and add any missing ones for the correct total. The Transmission Output Shaft will always have the correct spline count.
  • Counter Bore: Some yokes are counterbored, meaning the splines don’t extend to the end. If your yoke is counterbored, please let us know.
  • Length Variations: Yokes may have slightly changed in length over the years. If a replacement yoke is within 1/2 to 1 inch of the original, it should still work. Ensure the yoke fits fully into the transmission tailhousing bushing.

Sports Aluminum Import Driveshafts

At Driveshaft Specialist, we craft each driveshaft with meticulous attention to detail in our shop. Our Hi-Speed Balancing ensures smooth operation, and we use stainless steel weights that resist rust and maintain their appearance over time.

Lightweight, High-Performance Aluminum
Our sports aluminum driveshafts can reduce weight and rotating mass by up to 50% compared to OE steel shafts. This translates to improved power, performance, and even potential fuel efficiency.

Simpler, Stronger Design
Unlike OE 2-piece driveshafts, our aluminum shafts eliminate the need for a center support bearing and reduce overall weight, improving both strength and reliability.

Premium U-Joints for Maximum Durability
We use Spicer XL 1310 U-joints, a larger, stronger upgrade from standard OE joints. These U-joints are built with superior steel alloys, extreme life grease seals, and can last up to 100,000 miles. They’re also easily replaceable and available at any auto parts store—though the Spicer XL outperforms cheaper alternatives.

Our competitors may use lower-quality U-joints, but we choose Spicer XL for its exceptional strength and longevity. Keep in mind, this premium U-joint adds value and durability—something our competitors often overlook.

Upgrade your ride with a driveshaft designed for performance, longevity, and unbeatable quality.

  • 3.0″ x .125 Aluminum 6061-T6 Tube
  • 1310 Spicer XL Universal Joints

Sports Aluminum Driveshaft Advantages

Many competitors use cheaper, greaseable U-joints. When comparing prices, remember that the Spicer XL U-joint is a premium product, adding $20 to their cost.

Custom-Built Driveshafts for Performance and Durability
At Driveshaft Specialist, we craft each driveshaft with precision and attention to detail. Our high-speed balancing ensures a smooth, vibration-free ride. We use stainless steel weights that resist rust and maintain a clean appearance over time.

Lightweight & High Performance
Our Sports Aluminum driveshafts reduce weight by up to 50% compared to stock steel options, improving power, performance, and potentially even fuel efficiency.

Simplicity & Strength
Unlike the complex, heavy OE 2-piece design, our Sports Aluminum driveshaft eliminates the center support bearing and reduces weight. We use premium Spicer XL 1310 U-joints—larger, stronger, and more durable than standard OE joints. Built with superior alloys and grease seals, these U-joints won’t sling grease and are easily replaceable. Expect a lifespan of up to 100,000 miles.

Fitment Information

For custom applications, use the M1-4 measurement sheet. We have most OE lengths on file, but occasionally need a length check to confirm fitment. We strive to get it right the first time.

Important Notes:

  • For IRS (Independent Rear Suspension), the rear suspension does not need to be loaded as the instructions suggest.
  • Transmission output shaft spline count may be required. Accuracy is critical—please double-check measurements.
  • You may need to verify the bolt circle diameter and pattern on the rear flange. See the Measure Sheet for guidance.
  • Fitment tip: If your transmission has a sheet metal shield at the end, it will need to be removed. It’s a light press fit and can be tapped off easily. This step is necessary due to the larger U-Joint and transmission yoke swing diameter.

Original Equipment (OE) Replacement Aluminum Driveshafts

Driveshaft Specialist offers high-quality aluminum driveshafts designed to replace the original equipment (OE) components in most trucks. These replacements are crafted to meet or exceed OEM specifications, ensuring a seamless fit and reliable performance.

For trucks requiring increased durability and performance, Driveshaft Specialist offers heavy-duty aluminum driveshafts.

Driveshaft Specialist also provides one-piece aluminum conversion driveshafts, designed to replace the factory-installed two-piece steel driveshafts. This conversion eliminates the carrier bearing, a common weak point in two-piece designs, thereby reducing maintenance needs and enhancing driveline stability.
