BMW Type 1 Driveshaft
Driveshaft Specialist provides new and remanufactured driveshafts for most import rear-drive cars and trucks. We have manufacturing and shipping facilities in Texas and California, and we’re developing a Midwest facility to expedite shipping to the East Coast.
We may need the last 7 of the VIN to make sure we ship you the correct driveshaft.
Note: All BMW driveshaft pricing includes prepaid shipping to 48 US States. (Alaska and Hawaii extra).
We carry SGF brand Flex Disc, this is the OEM supplier to BMW. This is the ONLY brand that is OEM. Look at any OEM flex disc and you will find the letters SGF. ALL of the other brands are aftermarket and in our opinion – NOT nearly as good. Some of the aftermarket flex disc have shredded and then it damages the front of the driveshaft. We can not warranty damage caused by Non SGF flex disc.
We require that a BMW brand Flex Disc or SGF brand flex disc be installed for any warranty consideration.
We offer a 1 year unlimited mileage guarantee, the same as a new BMW driveshaft from the dealer.
When servicing the driveshaft on your BMW, we recommend replacing the transmission mounts (not sold here). These mounts are located at the rear and bottom of the transmission and may collapse over time, causing misalignment with the driveshaft. If your flex disc is damaged, replacing the mounts is essential for proper alignment.
Each mount typically costs $10 or less, with two required. We recommend purchasing from www.autohausaz.com for BMW OE quality mounts.
The Flex Disc is not included in the pricing.
There is a right way to install the flex disc. On the rim of the disc there are alternating triangular arrows that point to each edge of the flex disc. This arrow is where the disc should bolt up to the metal lobe of the driveshaft and the transmission flange. The photo below shows a disc that is NOT installed correctly. This can cause vibration and noise issues. BE SURE YOU CHECK THIS!

Nissan went to a longer wheelbase and 2 piece driveshaft with a carrier bearing for the additional length. We offer OE type 2 piece remanufactured driveshaft or 1 piece Aluminum Driveshaft. We DO NOT offer 1 piece steel driveshafts as they tend to vibrate at speed.
Early Nissan
We usually can’t provide Aluminum on the early model small Nissan’s due to transmission and rear flange being to small.
Nissan Trucks
Most Nissan Trucks prior to 1994 had staked in U-Joints. We offer OE type 2 piece replacement driveshafts. All end components have been upgraded to replaceable type U-Joints.
Our remanufacturing process replaces all the driveshaft end components with new parts that accept a replaceable type U-Joint.

Toyota Trucks – 4 Runner 2 Wheel Drive
The 2 wheel drive 4 runner is a notorious vibrator. The OE shaft has a rubber coupled segment in that fails after many miles/time has been put on the driveshaft.
Not many U-Joints fit the Toyota inside lock style very well either. This includes OE Toyota U-Joints. Toyota puts a list of clips with different clip thickness to adjust U-Joint fitment, problem is Toyota dealers don’t stock the Clips. We use a U-joint that comes with different thickness of clips so we can adjust the end play of the U-Joint. We Guarantee our driveshafts to work perfectly.
Toyota Truck – 4 Runner 4 Wheel Drive
Two types of driveshafts were were used on the 4×4 4 Runner. Neither has the rubber coupled element of the 2 wd 4 Runner.
Toyota Tacoma 2 and 4 Wheel Drive
2 Wheel Drive Tacoma uses 3 different types of driveshafts dependent on year and wheelbase of truck.

SERVICE NOTE on 929: Mazda 929’s had a lot of torque converter issues. With car in neutral rev engine slowly to 2500-3000 rpm. If you have a vibration sitting still you may have torque converter issues and/or you may also have a driveshaft problem.

Our Infiniti Driveshaft fully rebuildable if there is ever a future problem. U-Joints are $18 each and a center support bearing is under $75. You can replace all moving parts for $129 if needed in the future.

Mitsubishi Driveshafts have the Factory Staked in U-Joints.
We remove all ends of the driveshaft and replace with New Ends that were designed for a Replaceable U-Joint. All Driveshafts include new Transmission Yoke, Flanges, Center Supports, Spicer XL-Extreme Life U-Joints and Hi-Speed Balanced. This Driveshaft is a 3 Piece design and is not shipped Fully Assembled due to the overall length. Driveshaft is easy to assemble and Marked with Red Arrows. Just Align the arrows and bolt together. All Driveshafts are Tested and 100% Guaranteed to Work Perfectly.

Most Jaguars from 1953-87 will have replaceable U-Joints. We can service with new U-Joints, Carrier Bearing and Balance the complete assembly for smooth operation. Our pricing for a complete rebuild will be FAR less than going to the OEM dealer for service. We can also rebuild and balance the rear axle shafts.
